So I’m not even sure why there should be a debate about this. Seriously. Wear a mask and get vaccinated. That should be the bottom line.
This world is going through the worst pandemic we humans have ever seen before. Yes, there have been previous pandemics. And at that time, the medical community could not keep up. Limited resources. Limited knowledge and the lack of communication between other medical communities. They did not have the technology back then to talk to other scientists. We do now.
We have scientists and medical professionals who are giving their all to combat this disease. They are giving the information to the general public. And the American people are dismissing the knowledge. We have over 640,000 Americans who have died from this disease. That number should give everyone pause. This disease does not care if you are young, old, healthy, not healthy. It attacks quietly and quickly.
I do not understand how people have become so focused on their personal rights. This is not a time to be thinking of just ME. We need to be thinking how our actions affect everyone around us. Americans used to care about their neighbors. They would step up right away to help those in need. But with this pandemic, we have now become ME oriented. Refusing to wear masks and get vaccinated is just delaying trying to stop this disease.
I would like to know how many parents have had their children vaccinated for the childhood diseases in order for them to attend school. There is the flu shot which all people in the medical field are mandated to get. Yet, these people are refusing to wear masks, social distance, and get the COVID vaccination. Tell me how this makes sense? What do people do when a note gets sent home from school that there are children with severe peanut allergies? Do they refuse to not send peanut products to said school?
I know there are a great many Americans who do care. A great many Americans who do everything they can to help others in need. And for those Americans, I thank you. But when did we become a nation who is so ME focused?
